Welcome message from the president
Welcome to the website for the Canadian Yoga Federation (CANYoga). The organization's primary function is to act as the governing body for the sport of Hatha Yoga in Canada; providing assistance to provinces who are organizing Hatha Yoga regional competitions across Canada, and to establish the Canadian Hatha Yoga Championships as a national event.
CANYoga's main goal in establishing Hatha Yoga competitions is to qualify Yoga Asana (yoga posture) as a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) fulfilling all requirements laid out by the committee. CanYoga's vision is to join with similar organizations in other countries to form an international yoga federation and to qualify Yoga Asana as an Olympic sport under the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
